WORLD’S MOST EXPENSIVE ADDRESS, ONE HYDE PARK, OFFICIALLY OPENS

A host of celebrities turned out at the opening party of London’s, and possibly the world’s, most expensive apartments – One Hyde Park, in Central London.

Bernie Ecclestone, Holly Valance and Gary Lineker were among the famous faces that turned out the welcome the opening of the exclusive address.
Around 5000 balloons were released from the roof of the development, which, as the name suggests, overlooks Hyde Park. It is located in Knightsbridge.

The apartments are the brainchild of the Candy brothers, Nick and Christian, who have sold 65% of the 86 luxury apartments at the address. Nick and Christian Candy were present at the gathering with their partners Holly Valance and Emily Candy.

Around 350 guests were shown to the apartments which start at 6.5m for a one bedroom apartment and go up to a record breaking £140m for a penthouse, as the market for “trophy homes” bucks the wider property slump.

The new owners of the 6 bedroomed luxury apartment will have bullet proof windows, a panic room, access to 24-hour room service from the neighboring Mandarin Oriental hotel, plus protection from SAS trained security guards.
The £140 million price tag makes the penthouse the most expensive property in Britain, passing the £115 million paid for a flat at the exclusive 8 St James’s Square development in Westminster in 2008.

One Hype Park features such luxury features as a cinema, a 21m swimming pool, saunas, a gym, a Full Swing golf simulator, a wine cellar and valet service.
